In 2007 Bannockburn Primary School successfully obtained funding to employ
Frith de Vries as a school chaplain, under the Federal Government School Chaplaincy
program. Frith began in August 2007. Frith has a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling
and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology. She comes to our school with 10 years
of experience in counselling within private practise and the private school sector.
Frith offers non-judgemental and confidential support for any concerns a person
may have. She is able to liaise between different parties if the need arises and
provides a link between families, school, community and support services.
Chaplaincy Service The chaplaincy service is
made available to all persons connected with the school community students,
teachers, parents, and school staff. Students are required to have their
parents sign a consent form.

Service Provided The Chaplaincy service provides
the school community with support on human relationship and wellbeing issues.
This includes providing support for grief, family breakdown and other crisis situations.
The Chaplaincy service compliments and enhances the inclusive and caring environment
