| LET'S WRITE
contains a collection of stimuli that can be used as motivators to help you to
write. These stimuli come in four forms. (i)
VISUAL - unusual images gathered from magazines,
newspapers, books and photos. (ii) TEXT
- quirky and interesting narratives taken from newspapers, magazines etc. (iii)
STORY STARTERS - opening paragraphs,
scenes etc collected from authors. (iv) GENRES
- explanations of different genres with instructions of how to write about a particular
topic in that genre. Use the stimuli (print them if you wish) to help get
you started with your writing. When you have written your response,
they can be added to the site. This is done by emailing your writing to the Let's
Write editor. From here the writing will be uploaded to the web site on the
Others Writing page so that students can see their own work and also read the
responses of other students. Please note - not all responses can be added.
It is hoped that teachers will select 2 or 3 responses from their class to be
sent to the project. The project editor also reserves the right to exercise editorial
control over all writing that will appear on the site. The stimuli involved
will be changed every 4 - 5 weeks, so keep visiting to see what's new and to view
your writing. Read what children's authors
say about writing. Interested in POETRY - click here
